HATCH/What do you “do”?
I’m an Ayurvedic Postnatal Doula; I care for new mothers after labor and birth with an emphasis on specially designed healing food and warm oil massage.

HATCH/What is most important to you?
The first thing that pops into my mind is, of course, family. But on a deeper level, over these last few months, with my son finally in a wonderful rhythm at nursery school, I have been able to carve out more time for self-care, which my body and soul has been deeply craving through these early years of parenthood. In finding that space for myself once again, I have become aware of the massive discipline it takes to commit to “self-care” and also the absolute necessity for it, as a mother, a wife, a friend, a healer and a householder. Without placing emphasis on it, everything else suffers in some way. But with dedication and commitment to my own mental, physical and spiritual growth, everyone flourishes with me.

HATCH/How do you make your voice heard?
This is work for me, but I realize that only being authentic and by walking the walk can my voice be heard. I can talk the talk till I’m blue in the face, but only by really and truly living what I believe in and value the most, do I have a means to convey my truth.

HATCH/What did you feel when you found out you were pregnant?
Joyous and peaceful!

HATCH/What is your parenting style?
We took our son to RIE classes until he was 2, and he is now in Waldorf School. Both of these philosophies have really influenced our parenting style.

HATCH/What’s your favorite part about being a mother?
I love being a mother. It is both my business and my life. I can appreciate all the challenges (usually in hindsight) and all the joys. Lately, through navigating my way through toddler territory, I have discovered a great opportunity for self-analysis. It’s causing me to reflect on the way I myself was raised- what worked, what didn’t and how it affected me and I’ve been feeling grateful for this chance for growth and evolution.

HATCH/Describe your style in 5 words.
Loose, easy, comfortable, simple, I adore gorgeous textures and soft materials,

HATCH/Describe your pregnancy style in 5 words.
Funnily enough my style hasn’t really changed, it perhaps just makes a bit more sense now that I can drape my floaty dresses over a growing belly!

HATCH/Favorite HATCH pieces.
Gosh, I really love my entire HATCH stash! The Jensie pant is lovely. I also love my white maternity jeans and the perfect v t-shirts really are perfect! MY NIGHTY and the underwear!!! I’m still in hatch from my 1st pregnancy.
