IF YOU’RE LOOKING TO ADD MAGIC TO A SPACE, LOOK NO FURTHER. DANA HAIM’S POM-POM CREATIONS, WALLPAPERS AND TEXTILE ART ARE PURE JOY. FROM THE MOMENT WE WERE INTRODUCED TO HER WORK, WE WERE INSPIRED TO INCLUDE HER IN THE HATCH UNIVERSE.
Based in Brooklyn, Dana is most known for her work with yarn: pom-poms, tassels, wall tapestries, creatures and mobiles. Her inspiration comes from her travels, everyday musings and nature, giving a playful charm and sense of whimsy to the pieces, each lent a distinct and thoughtful palette.
Not only are each of Dana’s pieces handmade and one of a kind, but her pom-poms come from a place of goodness and charity. A native of Colombia, Dana works with the Juan Felipe Gómez Escobar Foundation based in Cartagena to teach the craft of pom-poming. The poms are the central component of Haim’s designs for HATCH as well: The Dreamy Mobile in vibrant pink or calming neutral color ways and The Protection Charm are the exquisite results of the hand-crafted ornaments.
“Working with HATCH felt like a natural progression for me,” Dana said. “When Ariane approached me, I was very excited as it seemed like such a great opportunity to collaborate with a brand that I love and have a lot of admiration for. Ariane and I worked really well together to create these dreamy pieces for HATCH. It was such a positive, fluid, and organic process.”
