WHEN IT COMES TO LUXE BABY WEAR, THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE QUIET ELEGANCE OF MAKIÉ.
Anyone who’s familiar with the aesthetic of Japanese born Makié Yahagi and her namesake brand can understand why her onesie, pile socks and ivory bear were easy choices for our new HATCH-to-Home bag. Known for gorgeous details and amazing craftsmanship, each piece is truly something special.
When Makié moved to New York and had trouble finding sophisticated and well-made clothes for her two sons, she decided to channel the skills she learned as a seamstress’ daughter and make her own. Now her store in SoHo on Thompson Street is a go-to for the clean, minimalist vibe. Not only is the children’s wear wonderful, but luckily for us, Makié has begun selling clothes for women – even the most cautious when it comes to mother/child matching will appreciate the similarities here. And to make it all complete, Makié has curated a fitting collection of accessories and home goods that perfectly compliment the pristine Japanese aesthetic.
It’s no wonder we’re so transfixed with Makié and her charming store. If you hadn’t heard of her before, then we hope we’ve just inspired you to take a look.
