WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SCROLLED THROUGH YOUR INSTAGRAM FEED OR OPENED YOUR INBOX WITHOUT SEEING SOMETHING ABOUT SMOOTHIE BOWLS, MEDITATION OR A NEW WORKOUT TREND? WE’RE SURE YOU’VE NOTICED, BUT HEALTH AND FITNESS ARE HAVING A MOMENT. IN A BIG WAY.
One of the forces driving the craze forward is Well + Good. The site is run by a bunch of healthy-living, exercise-doing journalists who have managed to get the inside scoop on the new boutique fitness studios and juice shop releases; luckily they share all of their intel with us.
We spoke with co-founder Alexia Brue to hear more about what inspires her, what’s on the horizon for Well + Good and what we simply must know, do and practice to stay…ummm…well. And good.

Well+Good was founded in 2010
WHY ARE YOU HERE (ON EARTH):
To be Ben and Thea’s mom.
FIRST THING YOU DO IN THE MORNING/ LAST THING YOU DO BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP:
Kiss my kids / Kiss my husband.
BEST MOMENT SO FAR AT YOUR BRAND/SITE/FOUNDATION/INSTITUTION:
Two weeks ago….in a plank position on a sun-splashed deck in Montauk doing yoga with Heather Lilleston and 100 Well+Good readers. In that moment, it really dawned on me that Well+Good had created a community of healthy women inspired to spend a Saturday together doing something that gave them joy and balance.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO:
I absolutely love the people who work in the wellness space. Spending time with fitness and wellness entrepreneurs and learning about their businesses is intellectually exciting.
WHAT’S ON THE HORIZON:
A gorgeous upgraded site in the fall where all of our incredible content will be easier to find and enjoy. And more unexpected ways of bringing Well+Good to life.
BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED:
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Total cliché, but every day we decide whether we want annoying things to piss us off or whether we perceive them as a little bit of temporary noise and move on.
BEST HEALTH ADVICE YOU COULD GIVE TO A WOMAN WHILE PREGNANT:
Keep up with your exercise routine. A trainer friend really encouraged me to stay fit and strong during my pregnancy—I was ready to go down the two desserts a day path—and it really helped me with both the delivery and the recovery.
WHY ARE YOU DRAWN TO HATCH:
I love the way it’s reinventing and revolutionizing maternity style.
