IF STARTING AN ART COLLECTION IS DIFFICULT, THEN WE’VE FOUND SERENDIPITY IN THE WORK OF GORDON HARRISON HULL. SET TO OPEN TOMORROW AT BRYCE WOLKOWITZ GALLERY, HIS WORK IS WHIMSICAL WITHOUT BEING CUTE, ENERGETIC WITHOUT BEING CHAOTIC.
A true multidisciplinary artist, Gordon cofounded the Paris-based creative group Surface to Air, is currently a creative director for a large American lifestyle luxury brand and has consulted with brands such as Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, Adidas and Levi’s among many more. He and his wife Gillian Schwartz, have recently welcomed their first child and neither are slowing down. His tagline–“everything is totally possible”–says it all.
We’re obsessed with his use of mixed mediums of acrylic, watercolor, ink, pencil, pen and collage that come together in the most colorful, dreamlike pieces — his pieces add personality to every space and are our favorite conversation starters. Department of the Interior, Gordon’s latest solo exhibit will open at Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in Chelsea on Thursday, June 25th. Expect to get transported to a place of fun and spontaneity. And of course, expect to see us there.
